Interior waterproofing application

Interior waterproofing application

Surface Preparation

The application area should be solid, dry, clean, dust-free, and load-bearing. All oil, rust, thick lubricants, and paraffin residues that weaken adhesion must be removed, and there should be no loose particles on the surface, nor should it be damp. Any protruding iron and wooden parts should be removed if present, and active water leaks should be repaired with a fast-setting repair material. Gaps between 5 mm and 20 mm in depth should be filled two days in advance with an appropriate repair material. The surface to be applied should be wetted beforehand but without creating water puddles.

Waterproofing Application

The two-component waterproofing product is applied to the concrete surface with a brush or roller. The prepared product can be applied to a pre-moistened surface in 2 or 3 layers. Each layer should be allowed to dry before the next one is applied. Each coat should be applied in a cross pattern. Depending on the temperature, the next layer should be applied after 5-6 hours. After drying, the surface should be allowed to cure for at least 7 days and leakage tests should be conducted after 24 hours. After waterproofing, the entire surface should be coated with a fine plaster to prepare it for subsequent finishes.
